The Pros
- Visual alerts are perfect for times when you’re distracted and miss the weather forecast you’ve already asked for thrice.
- People think I'm organised and therefore always on time for calls. LOL. It’s 80% due to this lifesaver as it literally announces my calendar events and pops the call details on the screen prior.
- VESA compatible mount, wall mount and adjustable stand (sold separately) gives you lots of placement options.
- If you have privacy concerns or don't plan to use the Echo Show for video calls, you can use a toggle to physically block the camera.
The Cons
- The default home screen cycles through content/suggestions in a way that can be distracting.
- Some default settings/apps are a pain to disable.
Essa's Tips
- The Echo show can easily become a distraction if you let it. I'd recommend setting aside 30 mins to an hour for initial setup where you go through any/all settings and turn off the stuff you don't need.
- Enable calendar announcements and update your calendar app settings to have default alerts that suit you. Mine are set to 15 and 30 mins before the meeting starts.
