%%CalDigit TS3 Plus Dock.%% A one-brick wonder that let’s you plug in ALL THE THINGS!

Small rectangular device with multiple ports that's connected to a laptop and two screens

The Pros

  • Swapping devices in and out of various charging stations can disrupt workflow/motivation and create a barrier to use. This houses everything at once, whilst minimising cable clutter!
  • Front ports provide easy access to ports for devices that are not permanently wired in (vs going behind your PC or iMac).
  • Give you a bunch of options to connect peripherals and tech, or to charge devices.

The Cons

  • It’s not cheap! However, I’ll caveat that by saying that it’s build quality means it’s going to last ages, all the time helping lower the friction of using your home workstation.

Essa's Tips

  • If you’re someone who needs high speed transfers, do music production, need powered ports for special webcams/lights, great! This might be super helpful to you, but be sure to check compatibility for the ports prior to buying it.
  • If you’re someone who doesn’t really need this many ports and with particular specifications, then it’s probably not for you. Considering I know first hand how it can sometimes feel like shiny new tech will make you more productive, that only usually works if there is a specific problem you’re looking to solve. Otherwise buying stuff like this becomes a slippery slope, especially if you're on a budget.
