%%Freewrite Smart Typewriter.%% A distraction-free device to help you focus on your writing.
The Pros
- A streamlined modern typewriter that preserves the tactile feel and the “clickety-clackety” sounds of typewriter.
- I know a lot of people who love typewriters as it helps them monotask and hyperfocus on writing. This does the same, but without you having to digitise or re-type everything on your computer.
- Syncs with their cloud service and a bunch of others like Dropbox, Google Drive, Evernote, etc.
- This model is perfectly suited to help you set up a writing corner in your home. If you prefer writing outdoors or in a cafe, check out the Freewrite Traveller.
The Cons
- The minimalist design means the UI is a bit clunky as you need to memorise certain key combinations.
Essa's Tips
- If possible, having different fixed spaces for different task types can be beneficial to people with ADHD as over time it creates a Pavlovian form of conditioning. For me, I got a small wooden bureau in a different part of my house that is dedicated only writing.
