%%Interstuhl UP.%% A stool that keeps both your body and mind balanced.
The Pros
- If you liked the idea of the Fluidstance Balance Board but weren't a fan of all that standing about, this is the same thing, but for you butt.
- I don't know if this makes any sense, but like the HAG Capisco, it's not a boring chair. It's actually quite fun to sit on and can be very versatile due to how easy it is to move around.
- Basically, the bit of background processing your brain needs to do to keep you in balance helps provide a small stimulus boost (and therefore, a dopamine boost as well), making up the difference to help turn an impossible admin task into a still unpleasant but bearable admin task.
- Overtime, balance exercises have been shown to strengthen the amygdala, which through a lucky coincidence of biology, can also help you better manage any bouts of emotional dysregulation/frustration.
The Cons
- If you plan to use the stool for more than 30 mins at a time, I strongly recommend going for the option with the padded top. Without that the hard seat can get uncomfortable pretty quickly!
Essa's Tips
- Try it in difference contexts. For example, mine usually lives next to my Freewrite and writing bureau setup, but I also love using it when I'm playing my PS5. The option to move it closer to the screen paired with the extra stimulus it provides helps me focus and enjoy the game more.
